Detail Description

“Every flight is a novel. Every record is an epic poem. They are the fearless and blameless knights of this war. They recall the legendary days of Chivalry, not only by the boldness of their exploits but by the nobility of the sentiments that animate them.” This is how Mr. Lloyd George spoke of the aviators of the Lafayette Escadrille in a speech delivered to the House of Commons on October 29, 1917.

The third and final volume of the trilogy “The Keys to the Lafayette Escadrille Memorial” concludes. After the first volume, “The Construction of the Lafayette Escadrille Memorial,” and the second volume, “The Founders, the Project, and the Crypt,” this is the final installment in the series, which tells the story of the Monument’s inauguration as if you were there. It also retraces the various renovations carried out on this Memorial throughout the present century. It will especially tell you about the Centennial Ceremony held on April 20, 2016.
