Memorial Escadrille Lafayette (History)

To be published in order to glorify the many exploits of American pilots who volunteered for the French army during the First World War, it was decided to build a memorial to them. This book concerns the history of this monument, the Lafayette Escadrille Memorial, located in Marnes-la-Coquette (92430) within the Parc de St. Cloud. This story begins with the history of its founders and the people who worked for its cause.
My involvement began in 1966 and ended in 2013, totaling 47 years. This book details the construction of the Memorial step by step, including the project, challenges, and costs.
The third and final volume of the trilogy “The Keys to the Lafayette Escadrille Memorial” concludes. After the first volume, “The Construction of the Lafayette Escadrille Memorial,” and the second volume, “The Founders, the Project, and the Crypt,” this is the final installment in the series, which tells the story of the Monument’s inauguration as if you were there. It also retraces the various renovations carried out on this Memorial throughout the present century. It will especially tell you about the Centennial Ceremony held on April 20, 2016.
